Verhelst Machines recently completed a challenging project for Algemene Bouw Maes in Brussels. We successfully installed a 7032 Wolff tower crane in the heart of the city's European district. The crane has a height under the hook of 65.9 meters and a jib length of 45 meters and had to be placed through an existing building.
The installation of the crane was not without challenges. To place the crane, Verhelst Machines had to get the chassis through a narrow opening and then install it in the underground parking garage on floor -5. Once the chassis was in place, extensions were added to go from 6 to 8 meters, providing sufficient stability. We managed to get the job done on time thanks to the extensive expertise and experience of our technicians. Setting up a crane in the heart of Brussels is never easy due to the limited space and the limited permits that are only granted on weekends.
